When Recycling Gets Easy For Everyone!

Updated: Aug 26, 2021

Can I recycle near me? YES, there are more and more recycling points for us to act at our level. Today we will show you how to easily participate in making our planet great again.

  1. Why recycling is important?

  2. Recycle VS Upcycle

  3. Recycling near you

  4. Is soft plastic recyclable?

  5. No Blah-blah

1. Why Recycling Is Important?

  • It benefits the environment as materials can be broken down or reused instead of being thrown away as trash in landfills. This can prevent millions of tons of equipment from entering landfills (air pollution from incineration, and water pollution)

  • It has a positive effect on the economy as the money saved on waste management could be allocated somewhere else. For every one job created in the waste management industry, recycling creates four

  • It benefits the local community in beautifying our neighborhood

2. Recycle Vs Upcycle

Before recycling, consider if the item could be upcycled!

Upcycling is a method of recycling in which waste is transformed into a higher-quality commodity or material. No need to take products to a recycling centre for them to be broken down. Instead, you simply use your imagination to come up with new ideas to repurpose objects.

3. Recycling near you

  • For containers and packaging:

You can use the yellow lid bin. You can find more information about this on this website: https://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/waste-recycling-services/recycle-household-waste

  • For soft plastic recycling, GOOD NEWS!

You can bring it to your local Coles or Woolworths as they are part of the Redcycle program: https://www.redcycle.net.au/ The Australia Post offices are even doing a recycle trial with Redcycle

  • Food waste

It typically makes up one third of the red lid rubbish bins of Sydney's residents. Impactwebdesign is part of this trial organised in order to convert food scraps into green electricity and fertiliser for use on gardens and farms. Spread the word :) https://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/waste-recycling-services/food-scraps-in-your-building

  • The city of Sydney is regularly organising ''Recycle it Saturday''

Events when you can literally bring almost anything that you don't want anymore: https://www.facebook.com/cityofsydney/

4. Is Soft Plastic Really Recycled?

Yes, soft plastic is being turned into a recycled material that can be used for park benches, decking, bollards, and more. IT WORKS!

We can all act at our level and we can all be stakeholders in this beautiful adventure.
